DIY: Sugar Scrub

I try to make all DIY projects as simple as possible. When it comes to body care and skincare if it isn’t easy it probably won’t happen. This DIY is maybe the easiest of all. It is made with three ingredients that may already be in your pantry.

In a {recycled} glass jar pour in 1/2 cup of white sugar. Add in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil at a time. I usually add in four total. I add them one at a time to be able to mix through well without making a mess. Lastly, I add in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract. This is completely optional but I love the smell of coconut and vanilla. You can also add essential oils to this. Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh, and Lavender would all be a lovely addition to this scrub.

Voila. You are done.

I try to use this scrub within a week or two. It means I’m often making a new batch. It also means it is fresh. Make sure you clean your container between each batch.

*EDIT* If you live in a cooler or cold climate you will want to use liquid oil instead. Unfiltered cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is hard at cooler temps and there is a chance it could clog your pipes. Make sure you use a liquid oil like sweet almond, fractionated coconut oil, or jojoba oil instead.
