It's terrifying, isn't it?
Personal growth is a little terrifying, isn’t it? There is first the discomfort of looking hard at yourself and seeing places for growth. Depending on your mindset this could be horrible enough on its own. There is then the chance to change and grow and as we all know growth is never painless. I remember waking up so many nights as a child and my legs were just aching… deep dull pain in my bones. Growth isn’t painless. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual growth are no different. Then there is the fear that maybe you will be rejected by your closest friends and family when you do inevitably change. When growth should be celebrated it often is not by those who are close to us because this change is change for them, too.
Here is the question: Do you grow knowing that it will not be painless and knowing that some may reject the you that emerges from the growth?
My answer is a big hell yes. Only you can decide for yourself but before you decide that maybe change and growth isn’t worth it allow me to pose a question. Is it more painful to change and perhaps lose some of those in your life because of the change or is it more painful to live a life that is too small for your heart?
You, dear friend, are worthy. Worthy of growth, worthy of change, worthy of a big beautiful life.
