October Petit Vour Box Review
After the slightly disappointing box in September I had my fingers crossed for a fantastic box this month. As always, I run all products through the EWG Skin Deep Reports. If a report does not exist I generate one using their “Make Your Own Report” option. This is not reviewed by scientists as their published reports are but it is a great place to start when deciding whether or not a product is clean enough for you.
Province Apothecary Moisturing Oil Cleaner and Make-up Remover (30mL). This “gently and effectively removes oil, dirt and make-up [and is] ideal for all skin types [and] won’t clog pores.” This scored a 1 on Make Your Own Report.
Thoughts: I’m really excited to try this cleanser. I have extremely dry skin and with dryer months coming I’m excited to try this out. It is valued at $20.
KVoss Shine on Stick (2.7mL). “This creamy highlighter stick… creates a buildable and blendable glow.” This scored a 1 on Make Your Own Report. It did flag one ingredient, sorbic acid, rated at a 3 given medium allergy and immunotoxicity concerns.
Thoughts: This isn’t something I would use every day. Given that I’m comfortable using it on occasion given it’s score as long as I didn’t have a reaction to it myself. (I’ve tested it and so far, so good.) This si valued at $28.
Akar Skin Balance Toning Mist (15mL). “Achieve true balance with this fine, non-sticky mist… [it] provide[s] gentle hydration, neutralize[s] pH, and allow[s] greater absorption of nutrients.” This is EWG Certified to be pure and clean. If you have an doubts, run through the Make Your Own Report option is scores a 1.
Thoughts: I’m so excited to try this toner. No complaints. It is valued at $12.
Luxe Botanics Camu Brightening Moisturizer (7mL). “Revitalize the skin’s luminosity with this buttery, moisturizing cream infused with vitamin C-rich camu camu.” Using Make Your Own Report this scores a 1. It does flag one ingredient, cananga odorata oil, as a 3 as it has use restrictions.
Thoughts: I’ve no issues with the cananga odorata oil so this is another product I can use. I already use a face oil that contain camu camu so I’m excited to try this moisturizer out. It is valued at $10.
It’s a box I can use with no complaints. This is definitely the kind of box I signed up for.
