We'll Make it Through {sneezes in spring}

We are full into Florida spring. God help us. I have no idea what is blooming but my body does not like it. Sneezing and inflamed sinuses only exacerbate my trigeminal neuralgia. So, what do we do? Use our tools. Here’s the plan:

In the Diffuser

  • 1 drop Lavender

  • 1 drop Lemon

  • 1 drop Peppermint

You can add more of one oil if you prefer - I like to keep the parts of each even. If you are diffusing in a larger room you can up the amount of oils to two drops each if you prefer. This blend may not only assist your body in dealing with seasonal issues but it smells lovely.

On your skin

I don’t know about you but this time of year my skin is going through it. Lavender and Tea Tree are my go-to’s for this.

We’re going to add in Lavender and Tea Tree to our boy oils and skin care. I don’t know about you but this time of year my skin is going through it. I cannot shower enough to get the pollen off of my skin. Lavender and Tea Tree are my go-to’s for this. Lavender is a soothing oil and Tea Tree is a stellar oil for topical applications. I also make sure a Lavender rollerball is with me everywhere I go. This goes on when I need a quick topical application to help with the itch.

Internally

Brewing up an easy herbal tea can also help your body through. A good blend to try is peppermint, nettle, and red clover. It’s tasty - thanks to the peppermint - and nettle and red clover are nutritive herbs making this a generally good tonic tisane.

Another add on are the Tri-ease Softgels. TriEase Seasonal Blend Softgels contain a balanced ratio of Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils to support a healthy respiratory system and help your body deal with seasonal shifts.

Rest

Your body is probably asking for a little bit more rest thanks to its normal reaction to the seasonal shifts. Make sure you are keeping up with your sleep routine or start one now if you don’t already have a wind-down routine.

Suggestions:

An essential oil diffuser sits next to a lit candle on a bedside table.
  • End all blue light exposure at least an hour before your bedtime.

  • Diffuse Serenity 30 minutes before you are going to be settling in for bed.

  • Go through your nightly skincare, dental routine. Apply the Serenity + Valerian Sleep Stick or Vetiver and Lavender diluted with carrier oil to your chest. (Using the Touch rollerballs are great for this application.)

  • Read for 30 minutes (a physical book if you can - no blue light).

  • Meditate to release the day.

  • Settle in for sleep.
